strange how the more you try to change things
the more they stay the same
it gets infuriating sometimes,
like having a pebble stuck inside your shoe
or an itch that keeps coming back,
and no matter what you do
you can't get rid of it;
you can't get out
the next thing you know, you're stuck...
and you're not sure what to do anymore
you're not sure if you can do anything at all
but you still try,
and yet...
but that's how it is, i guess
another of life's big ironies
just another of life's tricks
yeah well,
life is a joke anyway
ho-hum...
some things never change
