Sagada or Pulog?
201 events
Another long weekend is coming by the end of November. Andres Bonifacio day, a national holiday,
falls on a Friday. It surely is another chance for all the yuppies of Makati to
have a break and go out of town. 201 Outdoor won't be left behind. Two destinations
are being considered as early as now. Sagada or Pulog? Both are great places to unwind,
experience the great outdoors and get close to nature once again. 201 guys and gals
have been to both these mountainous terrain and were enchanted by the beauty &
mystery that both places offer.
Sagada is an arduous 11 to 12-hour trip of rugged but eye-filling greenery from Manila.
It is located in Bontoc, Mt. Province, a 2-hour jeep ride from Banaue. You will have the
chance to see the famous Banaue Rice Terraces as you stop and haggle for a jeepney to Bontoc.
Sagada is well-visited for the hanging tombs, great mountain views and cave explorations
with a clear, ice-cold plunge awaiting you beneath.
Pulog, on the other hand, offers an equally exciting adventure. Situated also in the Mt. Province.
It is a 4 hour ride from Baguio. If you're into trekking, then Pulog is where to go.
Being the 2nd highest peak in the country and the highest in Luzon, an exciting long trek is
what ahead of you. Be mesmerized by the enchanting sunset view, vast greenery and experience
the feeling of being on top of the world. The long and strenuous hike will definitely
fade away once you reached the peak and witness the kaleidoscope of the fading
afternoon.
