	 PEOPLE POWER II
	 "A New Chapter in History"

The beginning... every new beginning comes from
some other beginning's end... the 2 and half years of ERAP administration had ended.
A new beginning is at hand... It all started in that fateful evening where 11 senators voted
against the opening of the famous envelope. I was glued to our TV set and was really
devastated with the outcome. good thing, Pimentel resigned as Senate President. My heart was
on fire hoping to do something... I called up my friends to let my sentiments be heard.. it
was good we shared the same views of what happened together with the rest of the Filipino people
... text messages kept my cellphone beeping... everybody I know were clamoring for ERAP to
RESIGN NOW... long nights had started. Around 11:45 PM of that same night, I heard over the
radio that people were already out on the streets... along timog... others were going
to EDSA shrine, cory and the cardinal have called for support to denounce the acts of the 11
senators... I thought of going but was not able to and just listened to the radio until 3 am...

wednesday... it was the talk of the town... i never let go of my discman from
that day on... i was following the news over the radio while on my way to work.. while in the
office... anywhere i get the chance to listen. I participated in
the mass action held in ayala... the people were convinced that "ERAP is GUILTY"... everybody's chanting
"ERAP RESIGN".... there was no way to stop the people now,
whom he promised to serve...

thursday... people were more aware and the tension was rising then ... over
the news all over the country,,, people were staging various protest marches and mass actions...
i became more vigilant... i joined the mass action in ayala
once again... forming a human chain from ninoy's statue up to the edsa shrine... it was
indeed a unified call for erap's resignation... and condeming the 11 senators for being traitors...

friday... never did i miss the events... i watched the tv, listened to the
radio... that day, all roads were going to edsa... no way people will be left behind without
voicing the will of their hearts... i, myself cannot think of not being there, not to take a
stand, not to share my voice. I believe in the fight of the people, i believe from the very
start that ERAP was not suited for president... he had proven me right after all! Together
with the OFTR guys (my work buddies... we went there... that night was the night of the people, the night for our country... one voice can be heard... ERAP RESIGN!!!

the deliverance... we stayed 'til 2am in EDSA and decided to go
back to Makati... I met up Jan (my girlfriend since she and her
barkada stayed in mandarin hotel... I woke up early as the people from EDSA were already marching to
Malacanang... it was shown on TV... I felt that I had to go back... I had to join them and be counted... Jan was worried and didn't want me to go... I said, I had to... I went back to EDSA hoping to meet my 201 friends... i saw a lot of politicians and celebrities instead. I was listening on the news via my discman and heard that ERAP had resigned! I was excited! the news was Gloria Macapagal Aroyo will take her oath at 12noon. I hurried up... on my way out, I happened to see Chavit Singson ... i followed him and told him that
we won... he thanked me... I was with him on his way to the stage. When Gloria took her oath... we were shouting for joy. Cheers filled the air as if the freedom we've been longing for was finally given to us... just like it was in People Power I, 15 years ago.

Finally,,, our prayers were heard and new hopes filled the air... Gloria Macapagal Arroyo , the 14th president of the republic has all the time to prove her worth... she was given the position and power in silver platter. Together with the Filipino nation, she has now the chance in her hands to make a change, to serve the people who fought with her to have a good government... a government for the people and by the people which we truly deserve!

...and as I write this, I'll surely remember those days and nights where I made a stand and act on what I believe. A new chapter in history where my grandchildren will hear and be proud of. We, again as a nation, shouted on the streets and showed the whole world the true meaning of unity and PEACE. One voice, one nation! MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!!! MABUHAY ANG FILIPINO!!! SIMULAN NA ANG PAGBABAGO!!!

ACSAINTS
A Proud Filipino

ps. I also had the chance to congratulate the senate president, Aquilino 'Nene' Pimentel and Loren Legarda. Two senators, along with millions of filipinos, who stood for their principles and really made a difference .
